Dating email - get better results! - Part II

My last post of 7/21/2013 listed many items one should not have in a dating email. Today's email be take the positive side and offer positive things one should do in their date mail. As  mentioned in my book ( see my website at www.netiquetteiq.com), email is the least effective form of communications. It is important to focus on positives. This begins with good Netiquette skills. Just the format, name identifier field and subject field alone, when poorly done, can cause an email not to be taken seriously or even read. Remember that date emails are typically competitive in nature and positives, no matter how small, can make a difference in being successful. Here are some suggestions for making your email stand out.

1. Be yourself in the way you would like others to perceive you. Think of all the best ways to accomplish this. Make sure your attitude is at its best when writing an email.

2. Be brief in the length. Set a tone to have your recipient want to know more.

3. Ask about a couple of their favorite things such as places to go on a date.

4. Use the person's name. Reference them more often thsn yourself. This conveys a personalization.

5. Mention common interests if you know of any.

6. Show your human side such caring for animals.

7. Remember that you can not be perfect all of the time. Aim to be as good as you can be.

8. Lastly use words that everyone understands and which have a good sound and connote a positive tone. Some of these are:

quality
accuracy
adaptability
admirable
devoted
balanced
gracious
faithful
perceptive
energy
brilliance
clarity
genuine
compelling
confidence
loyalty
consistent
meaningful
