Business autoreplies rules and a sample

automatic replies
The
autoreply option for email is very often used, particularly in business
messages. Proper Netiquette greatly encourages this practice. Some important
message might go unanswered within a reasonable timeframe if this feature is
not employed when the intended recipient will be unavailable for a day or
longer.
The
following are basic elements which should be included in all business autoreplies:Time of absence/return
Alternate contacts
Emergency number
Whether other key personnel are also out
Assurances of a prompt reply upon one’s return
Superfluous
information should not be included such as what the absence is or where the
addressee will be. The following is a good sample of a good autoreply:
From: Paul Babicki [paul@netiquetteiq.com]Sent: Wednesday, April 7, 2014 10:26 AM
To: Serkan Gecmen
Subject: Out of Office Autoreply: Tabula Rosa follow up
I
am currently out of the office and I will be returning on April 10. Your email
will be promptly returned when I return.
If
your inquiry is regarding support, please contact the help desk at help@netiquetteiq.com or 609.818-1802.
If your matter is urgent and you require immediate attention, please contact
Laurie Houghton, laurie@netiquetteiq.com / 609 818-1802. Laurie also has
the ability to contact me if necessary.
